Assistant Floor Manager

About the Role

The Assistant Floor Manager works closely with the Floor Manager to ensure all products are available for sale, maintained with strict freshness policies, and aligned with HACCP Guidelines. This role focuses on building customer relationships to drive sales, minimize losses, and provide mutual benefits.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a safe working/shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, responding to questions and requests promptly.
• Operate equipment (e.g., box cutters, knives, scales, hi-los, scooters) following company and OSHA guidelines.
• Follow product handling procedures in line with company and HACCP policies, maintaining an "Always Fresh" approach.
• Assist with product presentation, rotation, labeling, and replenishment.
• Monitor inventory levels through cycle counts to ensure product availability.
• Maintain knowledge of warehouse equipment and operational procedures.
• Execute suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
• Communicate code dating issues and shrink opportunities to reduce product loss.
• Plan and complete assigned tasks during shifts, maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Assist the department manager with interviewing, hiring, and scheduling.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety regulations, and company guidelines.
• Support general team members and assist in other warehouse areas as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to develop and train team members, build relationships, and utilize their skills effectively.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Manage warehouse operations efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and listen attentively to provide instructions.
• Operate necessary equipment for the job.
• Work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Warehouse, retail, and/or customer service experience is a plus.
• Perform basic functions on a handheld scanner, desktop computer, and calculator.

Physical Demands

• Walking/standing on concrete for up to 10 hours/day.
• Frequent turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and bending.
• Frequently pushing/pulling objects weighing 500 to 1,500 lbs.
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects over 60 lbs.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures.
• Equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters).
