About the role
The Assistant Floor Manager works closely with the Floor Manager to ensure all available product is displayed for sale, maintained under strict freshness policies (HACCP Guidelines), and to build customer relationships that drive sales, minimize losses, and deliver mutual benefit.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant, safe working and shopping environment.
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect in all interactions.
- Communicate effectively with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner.
- Operate equipment (box cutters, knives, scales, compactors, hi-los, scooters, scissor lifts) according to company and OSHA guidelines.
- Follow product-handling procedures in accordance with company and HACCP policy, maintaining an “Always Fresh” mentality.
- Assist with product presentation, rotation, labeling, and replenishment.
- Ensure in-stock position of available product through frequent cycle counts.
- Maintain working knowledge of all warehouse equipment and operational execution.
- Execute all department operating procedures consistently in line with Corporate Audit standards.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales of products.
- Communicate code-dating issues and shrink opportunities; monitor product quality to reduce shrink.
- Plan and prioritize work duties to accomplish all assigned tasks during the scheduled shift.
- Maintain high cleanliness standards by cleaning as you go (washing, sweeping, mopping).
- Assist the department manager with interviewing, hiring, and scheduling needs.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines; comply with and reinforce all food safety and safety regulations.
- Report all issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Assist general team members and other warehouse areas as needed.
- Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- Ability to develop and train team members, build relationships, and utilize team skills effectively.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to manage warehouse operations effectively and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills: clear, concise, and understandable, with active listening and instruction abilities.
- Ability to operate all necessary warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Warehouse, retail, and/or customer service experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with handheld scanners, desktop computers, and calculators.
Physical Demands
- Walking/standing on concrete up to 10 hours per day.
- Frequent turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Frequent pushing/pulling of objects weighing 500 to 1,500 lbs.
- Frequent lifting/carrying of objects over 60 lbs.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures.
- Equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters).

Schedule
Full-time, hourly position with 8–10 hour shifts and overtime.
