Assistant Fleet Maintenance Manager

About the role

MV Transportation is seeking an Assistant Fleet Maintenance Manager to assist the Fleet Maintenance Manager with management of the day-to-day maintenance aspects of the operation of CNG and propane vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Fleet Maintenance Manager with the oversight of maintenance personnel
• Assist with the organization of the maintenance yard
• Assist with various administrative duties
• Supervise the maintenance operation during shifts when the Fleet Maintenance Manager is not at the shop

Qualifications

• Must be CDL licensed
• Strong supervisory experience; must be able to supervise 30+ personnel
• Ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers
• Ability to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments
• Ability to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook
• Technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance
• Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times
• Minimum of three (3) years fleet/vehicle maintenance supervision experience
• Diesel experience required

Preferred qualifications

• ASE Certified for truck/transit preferred

Pay

Starting salary range: $90,000 - $103,000
