Assistant Federal Defender, Capital Habeas Unit

Duties

• Work collaboratively with co-counsel, paralegals, and investigators under the supervision of the CHU supervisor.
• Manage a caseload that involves leading and working as a member of case teams;
• Direct and conduct case-related investigations;
• Write briefs, motions, and other pleadings;
• Review voluminous trial and appellate records;
• Develop claims and litigation strategy;
• Afford at evidentiary hearings and oral arguments;
• Meet with clients, experts, witnesses, and client family members.
