Assistant Engineering Director
About the role
The Assistant Director of Engineering will report directly to the Director of Engineering to help lead and support the maintenance colleagues and ensure facilities and systems operate properly. The Assistant Director of Engineering will oversee the daily operation of the entire facilities, including the physical building structures, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, refrigeration, kitchens and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the entire facilities, including the physical building structures, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, refrigeration, kitchens and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure the guest and colleague areas reflect a proactively maintained esthetic.
- Flexibility in scheduling – including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays – is required.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and team development skills to effectively communicate with colleagues
- 5-7 years in a hotel, hospital, or building, including at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong background in the following: HVAC (VRF Systems), refrigeration, commercial kitchens (hot and cold side), boilers, plumbing, electrical and laundry.
- Requires advanced knowledge of building management/engineering
- Exceptional time management, detail driven and organizational process planning.
- Professional demeanor with exceptional verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
