About the role

The Assistant Dock Manager position supports the efficient and cost-effective operation of the dock and salvage workforce at Goodwill Houston's Donated Goods Program (DGP).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures alignment and consistency of all aspects of dock and salvage operations, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Reference Guides, job descriptions, performance evaluations, and observations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations or related field.
  • Experience with inventory management and handling of goods.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
