About the role
Join Sonoma State University as the Assistant Director of TRiO Lake-Mendocino Programs and help shape the future of our students. You will develop and implement dynamic, student-centered programs with a focus on curriculum and teaching, and oversee program operations, budget management, and ensure compliance with university and agency policies.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement dynamic, student-centered programs focusing on curriculum and teaching.
- Oversee program operations, budget management, and ensure compliance with university and agency policies.
- Work in an office setting located at Upward Bound target high schools throughout Mendocino and Lake Counties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of four years' experience in personnel supervision and evaluation, program development and evaluation, and fiscal management.
- Four years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
- A master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field is preferred, as is possession of a valid California Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential.
- Experience working with TRiO Upward Bound or Talent Search programs and familiarity with federal compliance standards are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working with high school aged students; aptitude in management, supervision, strategic planning, project management and program implementation; ability to adapt to change in the work environment, effectively handle multiple tasks and competing demands; clear communication skills; ability to design and implement formative and summative evaluation strategies; proficiency with computer applications including Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets and MS Word); knowledge of Google Suite, Aeries, student information system and PeopleSoft preferred; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Pay and Schedule
- Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $6,000 to $6,250 a month.
- This is a full time, fixed-term, position.
- Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations.
