Job Description

Implement the student conduct process as outlined in Regulation 4.040. Facilitate information meetings, perform investigations as needed, resolve conduct cases through administrative review, adjudicate individual student cases via administrative hearings, advise multiple types of conduct committee hearings, refer to other conflict resolution processes as appropriate.

Affiliate with the Assistant Dean and Director in coordinating education and training of students and faculty/staff members involved with the Student Conduct Committee. Coordinate, develop, and present outreach programs to the University campus and surrounding community regarding conflict resolution, academic integrity, the student conduct code and conduct process, and other various services that Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution provides.

Afford assistance in assessing the student conduct process, including running reports in database to track caseloads/sanctions. Provide statistical reports and summaries for various departments and agencies regarding types of conduct cases and outcomes.

Assist in the further development of conflict resolution initiatives. Contribute to the Dean of Students Office (DSO), Student Life Division, and University of Florida through active participation on committees, department initiatives, and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, event support team, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc.). Oversee records maintenance to ensure compliance with institutional policies, relevant laws, and mandated reporting.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.

Preferred

Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, or related field. Qualified applicants should have graduate or professional experience in student affairs. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with collegiate conduct systems preferred. Evidence of establishing effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and external constituents. One to three years professional experience preferred. Some knowledge or experience with mediation, restorative justice, or other conflict resolution model preferred and two years of appropriate experience. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with new student programs or parent & family initiatives preferred.

Expected Salary

$50,000 - $55,000
