Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services
  • Minimum one year experience with respite recreation programs preferred
  • Minimum three years’ experience working with people with ID/DD & Autism
  • Minimum two years’ supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computer programs (i.e., Excel, Word)
  • Valid Driver’s license and vehicle
  • Flexible work schedule to include alternating weekend days

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Queens and Long Island Respite/Recreation Programs
  • Cookordinate the day to day operations of all Respite programs to include, create recreation calendars, program activities, monitor weekly attendance and participant schedules, maintain ongoing contact with families, coordinate new program assessments
  • Directly supervise Team Leaders to ensure the appropriate implementation of Respite services to include, create & monitor staff schedules, time-off requests, facilitates quarterly staff meetings
  • Interview, hire and train staff. Ensure timely completion of three month and annual evaluations
  • Provide indirect oversight of support staff
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all OPWDD regulations as they pertain to documentation of services, incident reporting and review and protective oversight standards
  • Ensure Quality Assurance as per regulations and agency policies and procedures to include quarterly fire drills, internal audits of records, weekly review Medisked documentation, staff training, incident reporting, OPWDD quarterly reports
  • Manage program budgets and ensure fiscal integrity of the program to include, reconcile Wells Fargo and Petty Cash, monitor program units, revenue and expenditures
  • Monitor all enrollments and dis-enrollments for all programs to include, monitor vacancies and complete vacancy report, attend Admission and Discharge meetings, submit enrollment/disenrollment and waiver packages through Choices
  • Assist in crisis intervention as needed
  • Maintain Certification in SCIP & CPR/ First Aid for both children and adults
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of agency vehicles and program sites
  • Drive agency vehicles and follow agency protocol for driver safety. Monitor Fleetmatics and safety Motorist reports
  • Provide direct care services in the absence of the Team leader or DSP staff as needed
