Assistant Director Patient Care (RN) Coronary Care Unit Full Time Night

About the role

The Assistant Director of Patient Care (APCD) provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics. This role involves supervising and directing the delegation of tasks, collaborating with patient care providers, and managing the interdisciplinary team. The APCD is responsible for setting and evaluating priorities, integrating all aspects of care, and individualizing patient care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Ensure awareness and adherence to ethical standards of practice (ANA code of ethics).
• Maintain and advance knowledge of self and others on the patient care team through communication and available resources.
• Report identified safety issues, including hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Understand and address the needs of the patient population served.
• Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members; collaborate with other patient care providers.
• Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
• Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize patient care plans.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, scheduling, payroll duties, yearly evaluations, and disciplinary actions for staff.

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in acute critical care.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

• Required: ASN or Nursing Diploma.
• Preferred: BSN.

Schedule

• Night shift, 36 hours per week (full-time).
• Monday – Friday, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay

The anticipated annual salary range for this position in New Jersey is $127,512.73 – $165,766.55. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
