About the role
The Assistant Director of Student Affairs at BASIS San Antonio Primary Medical Center Campus plays a critical role in fostering a positive, achievement-oriented school culture. This role focuses on monitoring and improving student behavior and academic performance, overseeing and supporting student conduct, coordinating academic support programs, and providing guidance and support to students, parents, and teachers.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve student behavior and academic performance.
- Build and maintain a strong, positive, achievement-oriented school culture.
- Oversee and support procedures for student conduct, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Maintain student discipline and document behavioral incidents.
- Collaborate with teachers on classroom management and communication with parents and students.
- Provide guidance and support to parents regarding student well-being and performance.
- Review grade data and collaborate with the Director on academic interventions.
- Serve as a member of the Student Support Team (SST).
- Chaperone school events, including dances.
- Coordinate student support programs such as Homework Buddy and Peer Tutoring.
- Participate in faculty and staff meetings.
- Evaluate and support teachers in classroom management and parent relations.
- Organize and review assessment results, including new student evaluations, standardized testing, and BASIS-specific programs.
- Coordinate planning and preparation for new student orientation.
- Aid in the planning and execution of academic schedules and standardized assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a school setting, ideally in a charter or independent school.
- Clearance: Valid fingerprint clearance required.
