Position Details

The Assistant Director of Recruitment-Admissions assists the Director and Associate Director of Admissions with initiatives and objectives to increase outreach and recruitment of prospective FTIC (First Time in College) students. This position's primary focus will be on recruitment and admissions for UIW's Broadway Campus programs, which includes traveling 20% of the time. The Assistant Director of Recruitment-Admissions reports to the Associate Director of Freshman Admissions.

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate new student recruitment and outreach initiatives and activities. Establish relationships with external partners to promote the university. Facilitate open communication between the admissions counselors and high school and community partners. Lead recruitment outreach efforts locally, regionally, and nationally to generate interest and increase applications to the university. This will require travel within the state.

  • Serve as the point-person for admissions counselors needing assistance with territory recruitment and management. Coordinate the strategic travel planning for recruitment. Develop data reports and communicate progress to admissions counselors as territory managers. Facilitate cooperative and collaborative relationships within the department and University community. Provide leadership training and guidance to FTIC counselors. Develop and update recruitment processes for the admission counselors and department standard operating procedures. Oversee recruitment logistics and manage admissions department travel calendar.

  • Ensure admissions counselors utilize available CRM and other recruiting tools/resources as territory managers. Provide oversight of and communicate the day-to-day operations of recruitment within the admissions department. Assist prospective students and families with the admissions and enrollment process.

  • Oversee scheduling of recruitment activities and events with admissions counselors. Communicate with internal and external constituents involved in recruitment-related programming. Work closely with the Assistant Director of Campus Events to coordinate recruiting events and activities. Coordinate participation with other University stakeholders for recruitment and enrollment events.

  • Develop recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals established by university administration. Track/extract data to develop reports to support a data-driven culture within the department. Design, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive recruitment and yield plan. Monitor recruitment activities to determine recruitment program effectiveness. Identify duplicate efforts among University departments and work to combine efforts to increase efficiency. Develop recruitment plan through market analysis, recruitment practices, and professional networking activities.

  • Manage a recruitment territory and travel to promote UIW, programs and recruiting events. Represent UIW at local, regional, and national fairs, conferences, receptions, virtual programming, and other off-site programs and events.

  • Support the Office of Admission in all other aspects of the student recruitment cycle. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in working with admissions systems such as Banner, BDM /Imaging systems, and CRM management systems. Strong attention to detail and strong organization skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead. Strong recruitment and customer service skills combined with a strong work ethic; goal-oriented and self-motivated approach toward achieving consistent results. Ability to effectively gather and collect data and build MS Excel reports. Ability to effectively multi-task and deliver work product under tight deadlines. Strong project management, time management, and planning skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams or equivalent. Ability to effectively manage difficult or emotional customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs. Consistently reports to work on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent, arrives to meetings and appointments on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions. Ability to consistently meet productivity standards. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience working with students in higher education. Two (2) years of experience supervising or leading teams in projects.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree or current enrollment in Master’s or higher program. Bilingual (Spanish).

Physical Demands

  • Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 20 lbs. of recruiting materials. Ability to move about and actively engage with others during event preparation, execution of event, and post event activities. Ability to travel extensively by vehicle or plane and move about airports with luggage and marketing materials.
