Assistant Director of Nursing-FLA

About the Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing/Alternate Administrator reports to the Regional Director of Nursing/Administrator. This position serves as a liaison and primary contact for all nursing needs, overseeing nurses at InfuCare Rx. Responsibilities include maintaining nursing guidelines, ensuring quality patient care, managing staffing and performance, and collaborating across departments to ensure continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, guidance, and support to nursing staff on clinical patient issues.
• Direct patient care using a case management model.
• Maintain ongoing liaison among the governing body/owner and personnel.
• Ensure adherence to agency policies and procedures.
• Dedicate 10% of responsibilities to the Quality Management Committee, including oversight of the Infection Control and Prevention program and tracking of Hand Hygiene and Influenza Vaccination.
• Evaluate data and review progress based on results.
• Actively participate in the Quality Improvement Committee when the Regional Director of Nursing/Administrator is unavailable.
• Maintain knowledge of infusion nursing, pharmacy services, payment practices, and infusion business operations.
• Ensure all physicians’ orders are current and followed precisely by nursing staff.
• Promote skilled home health referrals in the home care community.
• Provide care within the scope of the state’s nurse practice act.
• Assist in developing organization goals and administering agency policies and procedures.
• Compile daily reports of home health services provided by staff.
• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Home Health Agency (HHA) in the absence of the RDON/Administrator.
• Supervise, educate, and coach nursing personnel.
• Be available during all operating hours and maintain an on-call schedule for 24/7 clinician availability.
• Plan and implement in-service and training programs.
• Oversee proper maintenance of clinical records, statistics, and reports for evaluation and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Stay informed about changes in nursing and home health care, sharing updates with appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to professional standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements (URAC, ACHC).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Current unrestricted RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of documented infusion experience.
• 3–5 years of clinical experience, including 3 years in a home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medicare Home Health experience, with Joint Commission and/or CHAP experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of Team Lead and/or Supervisory Nursing experience.
• Reliable car and auto insurance.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Preferred experience: Peripheral IV starts, maintenance and IV infusion therapy, injection and self-infusion training, phlebotomy for adult and pediatric patients, CVAD experience, and advanced nursing certifications (CRNI, OCN).
• Understanding of regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
• Highly proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and resource management skills.
• Ability to manage complex calendars, work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
