Assistant Director of Nursing

About the role

The Missouri Veterans Home seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the nursing program. The position involves assisting with the management of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and providing hands-on care.

Responsibilities

• Affiliate with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to manage the nursing department, including staffing, direction, monitoring, and evaluation of the nursing care program.
• Collaborate with Unit Managers to maintain key factor data within acceptable parameters and validate the data.
• Collaborate with the medical director, attending physician, and DNS to ensure compliance with standard policies, procedures, agency, and Veterans Administration guidelines.
• Report significant occurrences to the Administrator/Assistant Administrator and DNS according to established policy.
• Coordinate with the Staff Development Coordinator and DNS to ensure adequate training for nursing staff, and provide hands-on resident assessment and staff education.
• Document accurately and timely Veteran care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Aid DNS in preparing and maintaining nursing reports and records.
• Work evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Missouri – in good standing.
• 2+ years of experience as a registered nurse.

$97,440.48 annually
