Assistant Director of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that reflect current standards of nursing practice, company, and facility philosophy of care and practices while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff.
• Makes sure nursing policies and procedures are being used correctly and lead to good results.
• Does resident assessments, suggesting what kind of help they need, and tells residents and their families about it.
• Ensures that the right kind of care is given to make residents feel comfortable and healthy.
• Shows how to follow important rules that keep people safe and healthy.
• Checks the 24-hour reports from different parts of the building to make sure there are quick and good answers to big changes in how people are feeling, moving around, taking medicine, or having problems.
• Listens to and writes down big changes in how residents are feeling, like accidents, mistakes with medicine, things missing, or unhappy feelings from residents or their families.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Has two years of professional nursing experience in a senior living care setting.
• Has two years of supervisory or management experience with direct care staff.
