About the Role
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will provide leadership to effectively operate the Skilled Nursing Home's operations in Texas, working directly under the Director of Nurses. The ADON assists the Director as instructed and has the authority to carry out assigned tasks or areas of supervision in the Director’s absence.
- Assist the Director of Nurses in personnel management, orientation, supervision, and staffing.
- Periodically review residents’ records and reports.
- Supervise and direct nursing personnel.
- Investigate unusual occurrences or alleged abuse and promptly notify the Director of Nurses.
- Ensure all resident rights are protected.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing or an approved LVN program.
- Current nursing licensure in the State of Texas (Registered Nurse preferred).
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Good mental and physical health.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and capability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Administrative competence with professional flexibility.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and county laws governing skilled care nursing facilities.
