About the role
The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for managing the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care, providing input into nursing philosophy, and ensuring regulatory compliance. They will also assist the Director of Nursing with communication strategies and promote positive employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Aid the DON in managing the nursing department to uphold quality standards of care.
- Consult with medical staff, department heads, and Administrator regarding nursing service matters.
- Provide input into the interpretation of nursing philosophy and assist in setting departmental goals and objectives.
- Afford direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Promote integrity in educational programs offered within the facility.
- Mentor current employees towards leadership positions within the corporation.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
- At least two years of nursing supervisory experience required.
- Current RN license in state of practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
