Responsibilities
- Aid the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Services department.
- Meet the clinical needs of all residents.
- Absorb and develop clinical policies and procedures.
- Ensure that Nursing policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Oversee the certification of nursing assistants and track required in-service hours yearly.
- Ensure proper medication administration, handling, storage, and auditing.
- Engage in surveys and inspections by government agencies and implement plans of correction for deficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- A current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in this state.
- A Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university; a B.S.N. is preferred.
- CPR certified.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.

- The capability to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- A comprehensive understanding of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
- The ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- A patient, tactful, professional demeanor, and enthusiasm.
- The willingness to explore new methods and principles and integrate them into existing nursing practices.
- The capacity to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
- A thorough understanding of nursing theory and practice.
