About the role
The County of Marin seeks an Assistant Director of Health & Human Services - Homelessness Policy & Coordinated Care. This role is a highly visible senior executive leadership position requiring a strategic, collaborative, and politically astute professional who can operate effectively across complex systems of government, service providers, and community partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and programs addressing homelessness within the County of Marin.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including service providers, community partners, and other government agencies to coordinate care and improve outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Oversee the implementation of coordinated care models and ensure alignment with broader health and human services initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in developing and implementing effective strategies to address homelessness.
- Monitor progress towards goals and make adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
- Represent the County of Marin in external forums and partnerships to advocate for policy changes and resource allocation related to homelessness.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in homelessness policy, coordinated care, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams, develop and implement policies, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to homelessness and coordinated care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- Experience working with homeless populations and coordinating care services.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to homelessness and coordinated care.
- Experience managing budgets and resources for large-scale initiatives.
- Experience in public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.
