Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Club, located in Seaside, CA, is part of Troon, a global leader in golf and community management. We are seeking a driven individual eager to contribute and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization.

About the Role

Assists in directing and overseeing all food and beverage facets, including high-level communication, operations, member and guest satisfaction, service training, personnel management, product mix data, ordering, vendor relationships, service leadership, inventory, labor and cost of goods controls, and catering functions.

Responsibilities

  • 51% of each day dedicated to managerial and supervisory duties
  • Develops schedules for all food and beverage departments according to budget and forecast
  • Manages and assists in the ordering of all alcoholic beverages, maintains beverage pour cost, implements recipes, and sets retail pricing
  • Works closely with kitchen leadership to ensure food quality, consistency, appropriate ticket times, labor, and cost of sales
  • Assists in the completion of all month-end inventories for the kitchen, bars, and beverage cart
  • Assists the Director of Food and Beverage with budget development and cost analysis
  • Assists in marketing the restaurant and catering departments, both internally and externally
  • Manages other managers and front-line associates in all food and beverage outlets
  • Manages service standards for all food and beverage outlets
  • Promotes and implements all Troon food and beverage standards, procedures, and policies
  • Leads interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluates performance, communicates opportunities, and addresses complaints or issues
  • Manages department members, including Restaurant Manager, Catering Manager, Executive Chef, Host, Set-Up Staff, Cooks, Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, and other food and beverage associates
  • Ensures effective orientation and training for new associates; develops ongoing training programs
  • Monitors business volume forecasts and plans accordingly for labor, productivity, costs, and other expenses
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • Field-related education or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Food Safety and Applicable Sanitation Training
  • Alcohol Awareness Training
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to read and speak English (required for communicating with customers or co-workers and understanding equipment manuals)

  • Working knowledge of wine, spirits, and regional cuisines

Physical Demands

  • Frequently stands, walks, tastes, smells, talks, hears, uses hands, and reaches with hands and arms
  • Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Often works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
  • Moderate noise level

Pay

$68,000 to $70,000 per year (depending on experience)
