About the role
The Assistant Director of Dining Services (ADDS) provides primary operational leadership support to ensure exceptional resident dining experiences, efficient workflow, and consistent execution across healthcare and personal care dining operations within a premier senior living environment.
Responsibilities
- Supports and helps oversee daily dining operations across healthcare, personal care, and resident dining environments
- Establishes and reviews service standards, workflows, and operational procedures in alignment with company and community expectations
- Affords assistance with oversight of resident dining experience, hospitality execution, service recovery, and resident satisfaction initiatives
- Supports direction of sanitation, safety, regulatory compliance, and maintenance programs in accordance with company standards and healthcare regulations
- Sustains labor management, scheduling, operational efficiency, and cost control initiatives
- Affords assistance with team leadership, associate coaching, onboarding, training, and development
- Partners closely with culinary, wellness, and operational leadership teams to support resident dietary accommodations and overall dining quality
- Coordinates daily operational priorities and communication with supervisory and management teams
- Maintains strong client, resident, and customer relationships through visible and service-oriented leadership
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience considered
- 3–5+ years of senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or foodservice leadership experience preferred
- Experience within healthcare, rehabilitation, personal care, assisted living, or skilled nursing dining environments strongly preferred
- CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, compliance, and resident-focused dining operations
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Hospitality-driven mindset with strong resident engagement and customer service focus
- Ability to support and adapt within a fast-paced, evolving operational environment
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational execution abilities
- Proficient computer skills preferred
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, accountability, and strong ethical standards
