About the role
The Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) plays a crucial role in advancing The Campaign for TCNJ: Elevating Excellence, a six-year, $76M fundraising initiative. Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, this position focuses on engaging institutional partners in direct support of the campaign.
Responsibilities
- Manage a donor/prospect portfolio of 100+ foundations, corporations, and key individuals.
- Write and submit 25-30 effective proposals ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 to foundations and corporations for scholarship renewals, community programs, and student-facing initiatives.
- Build relationships by completing 50-75 strategic cultivation visits annually with corporate contacts, program officers, and individuals.
- Work with Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving to develop and implement an expanded corporate alumni engagement and giving strategy, including three corporate alumni events annually.
- Support the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in the creation and implementation of a Corporate Partners Council.
- Document all activity in institutional databases.
- Attend and staff college-sponsored events as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years experience in CFR or a related field.
- Demonstrated successful experience in development, including a strong track record in devising strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
- Experience in developing and writing proposals in support of institutional priorities.
- Demonstrated skill and experience in working independently in the management of a portfolio of prospects and donors, utilizing a moves management process.
- Demonstrated skill and experience with independent judgment and initiative.
- Affable, diplomatic, and experienced in managing complex internal and external relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of fundraising computer database systems.
