Assistant Director of Clinical and Professional Services, LCSW-S

About the role

The Assistant Director of Clinical and Professional Services supports the Chief Clinical Officer in managing the clinical program and provides direct client services. This position requires a deep understanding of traumatic experiences and their impact on clients, along with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, supervisees, staff, and community contacts. The role involves addressing and resolving conflicts, and some availability outside of regular business hours for client crisis situations via phone calls and text messages.

Responsibilities

• Provide at least 25% of weekly schedule in direct counseling to clients (adults and children) in individual and group settings, maintaining proper documentation in accordance with agency and state regulations.
• Engage in advocacy on behalf of clients, including within the criminal justice, educational, medical, and/or social service systems.
• Supervise approximately 6-7 clinicians in group and individual settings, including:
  • Teaching clinical skills by reviewing videos of direct reports’ sessions and advising on critical issues.
  • Reviewing client progress notes and providing feedback to ensure trauma-informed, strengths-based language.
• Utilize a reflective supervision style and the CE-CERT model.
• Perform administrative duties, including:
  • Planning and leading staff trainings and continuing education.
  • Gathering statistics and maintaining data on the clinical department’s productivity.
  • Maintaining agency policies and procedures, staff schedules, and facilities/supplies.
  • Data entry for research project documentation and delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Participate in community education and outreach, including:
  • Speaking engagements and providing support at agency events.
  • Testifying in court as both a fact and expert witness.
  • Attending community meetings.

Requirements

• Licensed in the State of Texas as an LCSW.
• LCSW-S (board-approved supervisor) preferred or eligible to meet qualifications within the first 3-6 months of employment.
• Trained in one or more of the following: EMDR, CPT, TF-CBT, or other evidence-based, trauma-informed treatments for clients with PTSD.
• 3-5 years of experience working directly with survivors of interpersonal violence in both individual and group settings.
• 2 years of supervisory experience, both administrative and clinical.
• Trained in CE-CERT and experience providing supervision using the CE-CERT model (preferred).
• Experience providing effective and client-centered crisis intervention.
• Experience facilitating trauma-processing with children, adolescents, and adults.
• Experience providing supervision (agency/licensing/clinical) or mentorship to client-facing staff or interns.
• Strong administrative skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with external public speaking, staff/volunteer training, and providing expert court testimony.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
