Duties and Responsibilities
- Counsel for initial 1L advising appointments.
- Aid in expanding externship and employment opportunities through employer outreach.
- Manage the Public Interest Law Fund (PILF) and grow pro bono opportunities.
- Plan and implement on-campus interviews, educational, and professional development programs and events.
- Guide students in identifying suitable externship opportunities and maintaining relationships with placements.
- Teach the classroom component, including sessions on expectations, policy and procedure, ethics, professionalism, etc.
- Ensure all externship information is documented using the 12twenty platform, including hours worked, journal entries, and paperwork.
- Review and collect evaluation documents regarding student performance at placements.
- Maintain relationships with students throughout their placements.
- Stay informed of compliance standards and legal community relationships.
- Promote the externship program through information sessions and speaking engagements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Two (2+) years of professional experience in career services, student affairs, or employer relations.
- Organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Superior teaching experience or presentation skills.
- Ability to develop internal and external relationships.
- Experience in law school career services, legal recruiting, or legal talent development.
- Familiarity with 12twenty career management platform.
