Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervises sub-courthouse and downtown motor vehicle branch managers including performance reviews and annual evaluations.
- Performs regular in-person site visits and maintains visibility at all locations.
- Assists with developing and maintaining motor vehicle programs, processing, priorities, procedures, and necessary documentation.
- Creates and provides initial and refresher training for managers.
- Performs audits of tax branch locations to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the office and the business rules of the Tax Assessor-Collector.
- Counsels and encourages managers and staff to meet standards set by the Director.
- Creates and provides training programs for customer-facing staff.
- Evaluates and adjusts staffing resources and motor vehicle workload between locations to meet daily needs.
- Attends meetings with or in place of the Director.
- Acts as a resource for staff inquiries regarding complex cases and office policy.
- Determines training needs and develops presentations for internal and external training sessions.
- Creates, edits, and reviews presentations for accuracy and content.
- Provides suggestions and plans to the Director when determining disciplinary action.
- Offers strategic planning for required or supplemental training for employees following disciplinary action.
- Works in tandem with the Director when conducting interviews and implementing promotion decisions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Six (6) years of motor vehicle experience including five (5) years of management in a motor vehicle-related field.
- Must obtain County Tax Office Professional (CTOP) Certification within two (2) years.
- Knowledge of cash handling systems and database updates.
- Knowledge of Transportation Code.
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments, MS Office proficiency, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work well independently as well as with others.
- Must have detailed knowledge of organizational and departmental procedures.
- Must be a subject matter expert in vehicle titles and registration and building and leading teams and have a strong background in the training and development of employees.
