About the role
The University of New Haven is a private, coeducational university located between New York City and Boston. Founded in 1920, it is known for its academic excellence and offers more than 100 programs across various disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an active member of the admissions team, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to achieve the university's enrollment goals.
- Communicate the university's mission, academic and co-curricular programs, extra-curricular activities, and other relevant information to prospective students throughout the recruitment process.
- Advise prospective students on all aspects of the application process.
- Participate in on-campus/off-campus recruitment activities such as open houses, graduate fairs, and university visits.
- Create and maintain a network of current students who assist in the recruitment process and respond to inquiries from new and prospective students.
- Support the enrollment communications team in creating effective social media campaigns and ad campaigns.
- Work with the operations team to ensure that candidates for scholarships and fellowships are promptly notified.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive and private information.
- Work in a collaborative manner with peers and colleagues.
- Work non-traditional hours, including early morning, evening, and weekends.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree required, with two to four years of experience in higher education preferred.
- A valid Driver’s License and ability to travel on behalf of the University.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A commitment to enhancing the internal and external customer experience.
- Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- The ability to work in a collaborative manner with peers and colleagues.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive and private information.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including early morning, evening, and weekends.
