Assistant Director, Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions

About the Role

This position is responsible for recruiting and educating potential students about programs offered at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Recruitment and education activities include attending high school and college fairs, national conferences, and individual school visits. The recruiter works directly with high school and undergraduate advisors to assist students in preparing for higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in all aspects of recruitment for GCSOM programs.
  • Utilizes all admission information systems for processing admission inquiries through matriculation for the programs offered.
  • Assists in the development of admission recruitment plans with the Director and executes them to support institutional goals.
  • Participates in the screening process for assigned applicants.
  • Supervises undergraduate and graduate students participating in the Admissions Ambassador Program.
  • Participates in campus visits and tours for prospective students, institutions, and community members.
  • Supports undergraduate, graduate, and certificate interview days for prospective students.
  • Leads the creation, development, and deployment of Open House programs and Accepted Student Days.
  • Manages the credentialing processes for incoming students.
  • Manages the relationship and all processes and procedures with the approved integrated marketing communications vendor(s).
  • Assists with updates to the pre-matriculation pages and social media for accepted students.
  • Plans and organizes regional open houses and campus tours, schedules campus tour dates, individual school visits, and appointments in conjunction with other members of the Admissions team.
  • Participates in strategic planning efforts for admissions to undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs and other areas as they relate to students.
  • Serves on Geisinger Commonwealth committees as appointed and prepares reports, proposals, and related correspondence as required.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (Required)
