Assistant Director, Equal Opportunity Programs (18325)
Florida A&M University's Division of Compliance and Ethics (Office of Equal Opportunity Programs) is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity Programs position.
Responsibilities
- Assist, plan, and implement equity programs ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes and rules and regulations of the appropriate governing agencies.
- Assist the Director for Equal Opportunity Programs/Labor Relations in planning and organizing equity programs.
- Complete and coordinate Affirmative Action Plans with external stakeholders for the University and develop the Equity Accountability Report.
- Investigate complaints of discrimination and harassment as directed by the supervisor, including collecting and interpreting data, some of which may be confidential.
- Attend meetings in the absence of the Director.
- Assist in the development of workshops and conduct training programs for the University community related to equity and ADA issues.
- Interpret equity policies on a daily basis for students, employees, and visitors.
- Make presentations to University Search Committees regarding equity issues.
- Serve as a member of University-wide committees when appointed by the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer or University President/designee.
- Assist the Director with special assignments as needed.
- Perform other related duties such as answering telephones, organizing office mail, and drafting/sending letters associated with equity complaints.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or a master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of state and federal laws.
- Ability to think critically and write effectively.
- Knowledge of sound investigatory skills and ability to perform those skills.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
- Ability to apply University regulations, policies, and procedures in daily work routine.
This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
