About the role
The Assistant Director of Engineering position is available at MUSC/Florence, SC. This role manages one or more functional areas within the Engineering Department, supervising up to two professional and support staff, and ensures compliance with organizational policies and laws.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates and implements process improvements within the Engineering Department.
- Makes improvements to department processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Manages initiatives, strategic priorities, and programs that impact the organization.
- Works independently and collaboratively with leadership to support the budget process and meet key operational goals.
- Plans, organizes, facilitates, monitors, and evaluates activities and functions of the department/functional business area based on employee/organizational goals.
- Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical/non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within various delivery settings.
- Manages Life Safety and Utilities Management documentation.
- Assists front-line staff with best practices and solutions.
- Supervises contractors and participates in project management oversight, including ISLM and Infection Control during construction.
- TJC, DHEC, and CMS survey experience is desired.
- Supports engineering support for the Pee Dee Division: Florence, SC; Marion, SC, and BlackRiver/Cades, SC.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of healthcare facilities management experience, with 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
Qualifications
- Discretion and greater financial authority than other lower management levels.
- Experience managing initiatives, strategic priorities, and programs that impact the organization.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with leadership.
- Knowledge of TJC, DHEC, and CMS survey experience is desired.
- Experience supporting engineering support for the Pee Dee Division: Florence, SC; Marion, SC, and BlackRiver/Cades, SC.
