Assistant Director, Clinical Pharmacy
Scope of Position
The Assistant Director of Pharmacy provides strategic leadership for inpatient hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy services and oversees hematology/oncology pharmacists practicing in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment, orientation, professional development, performance management, and evaluation of the hematology/oncology clinical pharmacist team
- Identification and resolution of service needs and practice challenges
- Advancement of evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice
- Oversight of pharmacist privileges, competencies, and support of departmental financial management and budgeting
- Participation in the development and implementation of departmental strategic priorities
- Leadership in the development and implementation of clinical programs, pathways, policies, and medication-use initiatives related to inpatient hematology/oncology care
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary partners to advance patient care, medication safety, clinical practice, research, and education
- Support of the implementation and evaluation of new programs and services
- Provision of clinical staffing as needed
- Promotion of professional development and educational opportunities for pharmacists, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Registered Pharmacist. 5 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and registration as a Pharmacist. Additional experience and qualifications may be considered based on the candidate's background and fit with the position.

Strong leadership skills, ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in clinical pharmacy practices, and knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.
