About the role
The Goddard School is seeking an Assistant Director to join our team. This position supports the Director and franchisee in various operational and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Support the Director and franchisee in community outreach efforts and customer relationship building
- Aid in maintaining a professional online presence, including managing LinkedIn
- Welcome visitors, assist with tours, and help lead family orientations
- Support school communication systems, including daily reports, newsletters, and event reminders
- Maintain school schedules, including faculty schedules and event calendars
- Manage employee records, including onboarding, timecards, and performance tracking
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including interviewing and onboarding new teachers
- Organize professional development, faculty meetings, and training sessions
- Provide guidance and support to teachers to maintain a positive work environment
- Ensure educational programs meet the needs of all children
- Support teachers in implementing curriculum and lesson planning
- Maintain classroom standards and student transition processes
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families
- Address parent questions and escalate concerns to the Director when needed
- Coordinate community outreach initiatives and partnerships
- Support recruitment efforts and administrative tasks
- Ensure efficient use of school resources
- Support safety drills and emergency preparedness
- Aid in daily opening and closing procedures, including safety checks and facility readiness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field preferred
- 2–5 years of leadership experience in a childcare setting (Assistant Director or similar role preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
- Positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills
- Pasion for working with children and supporting educators
