Assistant Director
About the role
The Assistant Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 90-bed, 24/7 emergency shelter for employable or employed homeless women. Responsibilities include ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment, supervising staff, and implementing the Shelter Emergency Plan.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for both clients and staff
- Tour the building regularly to ensure compliance with standards
- Initiate corrective action if necessary
- Prepare and submit Incident Reports to Project Renewal and DHS staff
- Supervise Operations Department staff
- Ensure staff receive training in required skills
- Monitor the implementation of the Shelter Emergency Plan
- Participate in case conferences and conflict resolution
- Avoid emergencies on a 24/7/365 basis, especially after normal working hours, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, psychology, education, sociology, occupational or physical therapy, or related human services fields with 3+ years of experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity
- Associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields with 4+ years of experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent with 5+ years of experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity
- Bilingual or multilingual a plus

- Computer: Knowledge of case management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
