Assistant Director
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, business, counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing pre-college or college access programs serving low-income and underserved students.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs; analyze data; manage multiple priorities; and build collaborative relationships across the university and community.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage students, families, school personnel, community partners, and university stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and other technology applications, with the ability to quickly learn and utilize new software systems and databases.
- Writing sample: A sample that demonstrates strong written communication, such as a professional report, program proposal/report, or similar work product.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing federally and state-funded programs, including grant implementation, compliance, budget oversight, program development, staff supervision, and strategic planning.
- Experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding, supervising, and developing student personnel to support program objectives and student success initiatives.
- Ability to compile and prepare state and federal grant reports, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, solve complex problems, and collaborate effectively with university and community partners while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Familiarity with SCRIBE, Banner, and other student information and data management systems.
- Ability to develop and coordinate partnerships with K-12 school districts and community organizations.
- Experience preparing grant performance measures, analyzing data to support pre-college program goals and objectives, and using data to inform continuous program improvement.
- Ability to contribute to long-range strategic planning and program development for Pre-College Programs.

About the Role
Provide leadership and management for university-sponsored college access and readiness programs that expand educational opportunities and promote postsecondary success for pre-college students. Assists with the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of federally, state, and university-funded pre-college initiatives while ensuring compliance with grant requirements and institutional policies. Provide direct training and supervision to graduate assistants, undergraduate student tutors and mentors. Collaborates with university, K–12, community, and external partners to support college awareness, academic achievement, career exploration, family engagement, and successful transitions to higher education through data-informed decision-making and strategic partnerships.
