Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years (5+ years preferred) of direct supervisory and program management experience in community building/engagement/organizing/advocacy or related fields
Qualifications
- Excellent communication, detail-oriented, Strategic planning, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills.
- Advanced interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Outlook)
- Prior experience with budget management (I.e., balancing budgets, spending proposals, cost analysis, etc.)
- Experience with Salesforce/data management systems is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks independently
- Experience working with community groups and community-based organizations
- Networking experience, community building, and Familiar with the Harlem Community, related service providers, and challenges prevalent in underserved communities of color
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
- Open to working with a diverse population of families, parents/caregivers, and children within the community
- Highly collaborative, customer service-focused, and dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
- Bilingual Spanish/English/French is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of a team, including managers and community organizers, to ensure efficient delivery of community and program services
- Responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of community-driven initiatives, workshops, events, and activities
- Develop and implement programs that support efforts for meeting programmatic goals within the following areas: Community Organizing, Leadership Development, Community Outreach, and Neighborhood Revitalization
- Schedule and manage local community outreach, including door-knocking, telephone campaigns, etc.
- Work with the program director to create, plan, and execute the department's mission and vision
- Work with the program director to support the management of organization-wide events and activities
- Work with the program director to develop and successfully execute program strategies and processes, including but not limited to direct services for the residents
- Foster strong relationships and effective communications with staff, HCZ leadership, and local community stakeholders
- Attend and participate in community, block, and tenant association meetings and events
- Ensure all data and information are correctly tracked, reported, and updated promptly
- Oversee, develop, and manage the CYC Community Youth Connections to increase scholar participation
- Work with local businesses to serve as vendors for the program
- Stipend management
- Recruit local volunteers for activities, including community advisory board and resident meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Schedule Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays
