About the role

Responsibilities
- Assist the Center Director in leading teaching staff, supporting families, and achieving enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives.
- Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children.
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners.
- Serve in various roles throughout the center as needed including director, teacher.
- Follow the application of weekly plans based on Creative Curriculum Guidelines and monthly themes in the classrooms.
- Meet the individual needs of the children by interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
- Guide and follow up with the teachers designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
- Supervise teachers for creating a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning.
- Use assessment tools and observations to track individual teacher development.
- Commit to continuing education.
Requirements
- College / University with 6 semester hours in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- A combination of infant, toddler or preschool teaching experience.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and customer service skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Flexibility with schedule.
- Must meet state educational and licensing requirements for an assistant director.
Qualifications
