As an Assistant Director, you will expand and showcase your skills as you lead the strategy, daily management, and growth of UCLA ONE - our premier networking platform - and drive engagement across our digital communities, including LinkedIn, social media, the Alumni Association website, and email channels. You will manage projects with a purpose and provide collaborative input to ensure digital experiences expand, enhance and are responsive to the needs of our diverse alumni communities. Partnering with members of the Alumni Career Engagement team and other teams across External Affairs, you will advance our platforms, identify opportunities to improve user experiences, and be part of the vital storytelling of our alumni across industries. As an Assistant Director, your work will help create meaningful mentorship programs and engagement opportunities that connect Bruins for real-world career training and insights. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications Two or more years of demonstrated experience working in a volunteer, student, marketing, educational technology, program development, career counseling/career development or related environment. (Required) Prior experience and/or ability to manage an online community and platform for growth, and create strategies for continual user acquisition and returning user engagement. (Required) Experience with and/or ability to expand online communities, improving user experience, and partner engagement. (Required) Demonstrated experience in responding to constituent inquiries and concerns in a customer service-oriented or constituent driven environment. (Required) Experience/background in design utilizing Canva/Photoshop or similar applications is highly desired. (Preferred) Ability to work with volunteers to build programming and initiatives with demonstrated ability to orient, train, organize and motivate staff and volunteers. (Required)Demonstrated ability to maintain systems and processes, troubleshoot technical and customer issues, and have an eye for detail to align platform with UCLA brand, look, and feel. (Required)Highly collaborative with demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish, maintain and expand relationships, partnerships and opportunities as well as interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. (Required)Demonstrated skill in working equally well independently and as part of a large team; ability to follow through on all assignments with minimal direction and to identify opportunities for process improvements; skill in organizing, developing and executing new projects, programs and initiatives. (Required)Ability to navigate and utilize social media and digital tools including ability to edit videos for social media; ability to maintain programming in line with social media strategy. (Required)Excellent oral and written communication skills. (Required)Creative and resourceful with ability to work effectively in a large, complex and dynamic environment. (Required)Skill in using judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact; ability to handle confidential matters in a discreet and tactful manner. (Required)Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite and other software applications; willingness to learn new technologies promptly and efficiently. (Required)Ability to manage projects with high volume of data and leveraging tools, such as Excel. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree from an accredited U.S. college or university.
