Assistant Designer

About the role

The Assistant Designer plays a crucial part in the Design Team, overseeing the entire product development cycle from concept to final execution. This role involves working closely with the Design Team to develop silhouettes, fabrics, fits, prints, and branding details, ensuring that all products align with the brand's vision and current market trends.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Design Team to execute development of silhouettes, fabric, fit, print, branding, and all styling details.
• Research and analyze upcoming fashion and market trends relevant to our brand and product.
• Support designs across the design lifecycle processes including fittings, development reviews, comments to sourcing, and seasonal style handovers.
• Be proficient in Illustrator and responsible for creating and maintaining all CADs, product details, tech packs, and BOMs.
• Aid the Design Team with note-taking during fittings and clearly communicate changes to all factories.
• Own all design deadlines across the company's development calendar.
• Create silhouette/detail/print/color mood boards for each season for the design manager to review.
• Assist with the Merch guide management.
• Have the ability to create and manipulate stripe, plaid, and Illustrator texture fills.
• Assist with daily administrative duties.

• Ability to balance creativity and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and proactive, demonstrating initiative beyond what is expected.
• High taste level with an eye for trends.
• Solid understanding of garment construction.
• Highly collaborative and hands-on to ensure ideas and goals are successfully implemented.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Deadline-oriented with the ability to adhere to time and action calendars.
• Knowledge of Full Circle is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fashion design experience.
• Experience working with sweater knits and outerwear is a plus.
• A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a design-related field.

Skills

• Strong technical proficiency in Illustrator.
