Assistant Designer

About the role
The Assistant Men's Designer will join the New York Design team in the Knit & Sweater category, assisting all parts of the design process, including trend research, preparation of technical packages, seasonal presentation boards, and email correspondence. This role reports to the Senior Designer.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing both knits and sweaters for value channel markets
- Assist in recoloring prints and patterns via NedGraphics
- Assist with basic specification of product and communicate to Product and Technical design teams
- Make revisions to sketches and design packages as needed
- Conduct market and trend research
- Create 3D renderings in Browzwear
- Develop inspiration boards and sales tool boards
Requirements
- College degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience
- One year of design experience (may include summer jobs, internships, etc.)
- Experience in knits and/or sweaters is preferred
Skills
- Ability to learn how to design through new/advanced technology (Gemini, Fermat, etc.)
- Experience in Browzwear; previous 3D experience a plus
- Experience in design or product development in the Men's Contemporary Market
- Basic knowledge of product, fabric, garment construction, design, and color
- Ability to perform basic flat sketches
- Good organizational and communication skills
Pay
Base salary range: $25.00 – $32.00/hour, based on qualifications.
