Assistant Department Manager (Tile)
About the role
This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.
Responsibilities
- Act and work in a manner consistent with company's core values
- Demonstrate safe lifting practices and company philosophy
- Drive and teach the company's retail 'basic P's'
- Direct and assist in processing merchandise to the showroom floor
- Validate product placement and pricing within the department
- Greet and assist customers with product questions and selections
- Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines
- Communicate inventory needs to management
- Stock and tag merchandise displays as required
- Follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
- Answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines
- Maintain the integrity of the Company's business operations and reputation
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding and compliance with company’s safe lifting practices and operating procedures
- Thorough understanding of merchandise and installation
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard operating procedures
- Completion of product specialist certification courses
- Communication skills to direct and assist product sales specialists
- Physical ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

Pay
$18.25 - $27.15 per hour
Schedule
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
