About the role

This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.

Responsibilities

  • Act and work in a manner consistent with company’s core values
  • Demonstrate safe lifting practices and understand company’s policies
  • Drive and teach retail philosophy focusing on People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, and Purchasing
  • Direct and assist in processing merchandise to the showroom floor
  • Validate product placement and pricing within the department
  • Greet every customer and assist with product questions and selections
  • Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines
  • Present ‘how-to’ classes to customers
  • Follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
  • Stock and tag merchandise displays as required
  • Communicate standard operating procedure direction and changes to all associates
  • Complete industrial truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
  • Communicate inventory needs to management
  • Answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service/sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding and compliance with company’s safe lifting practices standard operating procedures
  • Thorough understanding of merchandise and installation
  • Thorough understanding of the department’s merchandising, pricing, and organization
  • Completion of all product specialist certification courses
  • Communication of standard operating procedure direction and changes to all associates in a timely manner
  • Completion of Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
  • Knowledge of inventory needs and communication to management
  • Ability to follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
  • Ability to stock and tag merchandise displays as required
  • Ability to present ‘how-to’ classes to customers
  • Ability to answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines

Pay

Pay Range: $18.49 - $27.31

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
