About the role

Join the distribution team at The Democrat & Chronicle in Rochester, NY as an Assistant Delivery Manager. This part‑time position supports newspaper distribution operations, ensuring timely delivery to carriers, haulers, retailers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and handle daily and non‑daily publications for carriers, haulers, retailers, and customers.
• Load and unload trucks containing newspapers and other print publications.
• Open and prepare the Distribution Center for independent contractors.
• Print, prepare, and distribute required reports and paperwork.
• Assist with newspaper delivery routes as needed.
• Respond to and help resolve subscriber service issues.
• Complete required documentation and operational reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Distribution Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Dependable personal vehicle and required liability insurance.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull carts loaded with newspapers weighing up to 500 pounds with assistance.
• Flexibility to work varying nights and hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Pre‑employment background check and drug screening required.

Pay

$20.00 per hour plus $0.72 per mile mileage reimbursement when applicable.

Schedule

Part‑time, 30+ hours per week
