About the role

This position assists customers in their shopping experience by leading the Deli team. It aims to promote growth for the company and deliver the product and service customers expect.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of the activities of other members of the deli team.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere.
• Hire the highest quality candidates for the deli team.
• Coach, correct, and evaluate team members to improve performance.
• Address and resolve employee relations issues.
• Manage inventory, count and verify merchandise, inspect deliveries, and enforce quality control measures.
• Know and promote department sales and specials.
• Answer customer questions and resolve complaints professionally.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
• Ensure the department is clean, fully stocked, and merchandised.
• Communicate with store management about department issues.
• Unload and stock incoming shipments.

Requirements

• A food handling permit must be obtained within 14 days of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in a deli, bakery, restaurant, or food service operations position.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as outlined in the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
