Assistant Dean of Nursing Education ASN
About the Role
Designs, coordinates, evaluates, and implements program curriculum. Engages in program planning and assessment at both the department and institutional levels. Assists the Dean with strategic planning, updating goals, objectives, and assessments. Manages fiscal responsibilities, including resource allocation and long-term planning. Completes faculty evaluations and communicates results to support ongoing professional development. Oversees program accreditation and prepares annual reports for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Develops, designs, and delivers course instruction. Participates in student advising, mentorship, and scholarly activities. Engages in academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research. Maintains a strong presence in professional organizations at state and national levels. Represents the associate degree program to the Department of Nursing Administration and assists the Dean in representation to Senior University Administration. Assumes leadership for the department in the Dean's absence. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Doctorate required
- Registered Nurse (RN) required
- Expert Practice in Field and other recognized board certification required
- 2+ years experience in developing nursing associate, undergraduate and/or graduate programs required
- 2+ years instructional design experience required
- 2+ years of experience in teaching in nursing associate, undergraduate and/or graduate programs required
- Actively participating as an educator in an academic, clinic, or hospital setting required
- Previous academic administrative experience in undergraduate and/or graduate level programming preferred

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Effective communication skills with department administration, faculty, staff, and other internal and external clinical affiliates required
- Organizational and administrative skills required
- Effectively use computer programs related to educational duties which includes, but is not limited to, word processing, database management, complex data computation, analysis and graphics, presentation development, and distance learning technology; visual and auditory skills to use computer and other presentation equipment, including telecommunications required
- Cooperatively work as a team member required
- Effective writing skills required
- Ability to consult as necessary required
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key education stakeholders required
- Online Learning Management System (LMS) knowledge and online course development skills required
- Strong presentation skills using PowerPoint or equivalent software required
- Knowledge of associate prepared nursing roles and practice in healthcare systems required
- Professional organization involvement preferred

$83,699.48 - $155,693.55

Full time, Day shift
