About the role

The Assistant Dean of Engineering and Construction reports to the division dean and is simultaneously assigned to teach courses in his/her field of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the academic integrity of the programs offered by the division
• Developing and managing continuing education courses
• Overseeing advising processes
• Assisting the dean with program and course development
• Assisting the dean with faculty contracts, personnel, budget, and equipment

Requirements

• Master's degree in engineering or engineering technology or a closely related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible related work/teaching experience
• Must be qualified to teach curriculum courses in one of the following programs: civil, electronics, mechanical engineering technology, or mechatronics

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience managing department budgets
• Experience maintaining program academic integrity
• Experience representing the division on teams or committees
• Experience assisting with accreditation
• Knowledge of routine operational procedures, including conducting and submitting student degree audits, managing credit and non-credit programs, and evaluating military transcripts
• Working experience with academic complaints, faculty schedules, and appeals for late course withdrawal
• Experience scheduling registration and drop/add duty each term
• Experience assisting with reporting CAPs
