Assistant Cross Country, Track & Field Coach (Mid-Distance)

About the role

The Assistant Coach reports directly to the Director of Cross Country, Track & Field and is responsible for working, as directed, with the Head Cross Country, Track & Field Coaches towards the planning and execution of a successful Cross Country, Track & Field program.

Responsibilities

• Training Design & Implementation of one or more training groups
• Competition Planning & Execution
• Practice Planning & Execution
• Recruiting prospective student-athletes
• Successfully facilitating the enrollment of talented student-athletes, as well as maintaining a roster minimum for specific event areas
• Student-athlete Formational Support
• Encourage and participate in the human formational dimensions of the program

Other Responsibilities

• Student-athlete Academic Support
• Lead organizer of the academic support and study-hall of student-athletes
• Home Competition Management
• Lead organizer and meet director in part or all of our home competitions
• Competition Travel Arrangements
• Lead in creating itineraries, ensuring hotel and transportation accommodations are made
• Apparel, Practice, and Competition Equipment
• Lead in organizing, ordering, and issuing all of the above
• Program and facility Equipment
• Lead in organizing and purchasing the above
• Social Media Management
• Lead in live, post-competition, and other social media outreach
• Auxiliary Responsibilities
• Aid in Alumni Engagement / Fundraising

Qualifications

• Education, Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Successful coaching experience required
• The Assistant Coach must adhere to all NCAA, Metro, and University policies with regard to recruiting, eligibility, reporting, and sportsmanship

• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Pay

$40,000/year (Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.)
