Assistant Cross Country Coach -Sr. High

District-wide assignment as an Assistant Coach under the extracurricular schedule. Non-exempt, non-union position with paid sick leave and ESST benefits.

About the role

The Assistant Coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for cross-country, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment, physical fitness, and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates successful practices and attends meets.
• Provides leadership and guidance to staff in support of the Head Coach.
• Encourages student participation and establishes rapport.
• Motivates participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
• Works collaboratively with Head Coach, Activities Director, families, and community resources.
• Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations.
• Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies.
• Performs other duties as determined by the Head Coach or assigned by the district.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
