Assistant Cross Country Coach

About the role

The Assistant Cross Country Coach at John Winthrop Middle School will be responsible for supporting the head coach in developing athletes' sport-specific skills and promoting sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Support the head coach in planning and executing cross country practices and meets
• Assist in recruiting and retaining student athletes
• Participate in team meetings and other coaching staff discussions
• Work closely with the school administration and athletic department

Requirements

• Current State of Connecticut Coaching Permit
• Completed Module 15 Concussion training
• Current First Aid/CPR certification

Qualifications

• Experience coaching cross country at the middle school level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
