About The Job

The Assistant Credit Manager performs duties associated with credit management, including reviewing and establishing credit lines with customers within the approved authority. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviews credit requests submitted by branch staff, ensuring adequate support and documentation, and establishes credit lines within the set authority ($1-$125,000).
  • Follows up with supplemental information as needed.
  • Performs customer or location visits to promote financing programs, trains locations on various credit topics, and provides support and backup to the credit manager.
  • Maintains payment activity, monitors delinquent accounts, and initiates appropriate collection measures.
  • Provides updates to the credit and division manager.
  • Trains and directs via written and verbal instruction to locations or other credit department staff regarding credit-related matters.
  • Analyzes the risk of location receivables based on trends and credit exposure, taking appropriate action with guidance from the credit manager.
  • Documents credit decisions in customer files and completes periodic reviews and follow-ups of credit lines.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by your leader.

Regular and reliable attendance is required. Follows all company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, agriculture economics, or a related field is preferred. Three years of related work experience are required.

Skills & Qualifications

NACM CBA, CBF, or CCE designations are preferred. Decision-making and analytical skills are essential. Effective communication in English is required; Spanish is valued. Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, are necessary.

Work Environment & Physical Aspects

The work environment is that of a typical office setting with mostly quiet noise levels. The position requires using hands for many tasks, talking, hearing, walking, standing, and sitting. Occasional lifting or moving up to 10 pounds may be required.
