Reporting to the Office Director, this role supports independent construction cost control functions for multiple projects of varying complexity, including change-order reviews, estimates, value analysis, schedules of values, feasibility studies, and historical cost reports.
Responsibilities
- Prepare construction cost estimates, cost plans, and cost strategies.
- Review change orders and valuations of work in progress; perform bid analyses.
- Develop studies and plans on value engineering, life-cycle costing, and sustainable practices.
- Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare estimates.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by analyzing proposals, blueprints, and specifications.
- Compute costs and resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Assemble and present prepared estimates with numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Stay current with technical knowledge through workshops and technical publications.
- Collaborate effectively to contribute to team performance and client project outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to add value and accomplish desired project outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Recent experience and specialty in electrical and mechanical cost strategies.
- Cost-control experience in the commercial, institutional, or industrial sector, focusing on vertical construction.
- Experience with conceptual and detailed measurement/pricing.
- Familiarity with CMGC/GCCM processes.
- Proficiency with estimating software systems, on-screen takeoff software, and BIM.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor office environment; occasional on-site work may be required.
- Equipment used includes computers and standard office machines.
- Essential tasks include working on a computer and speaking on a telephone.
