About the role

The Assistant Corrosion Project Manager will coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle, responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project. They will conduct analyses to develop chemical or process-related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables. This role requires frequent travel and involves both office and fieldwork.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under supervision of a Project Manager
  • Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project
  • Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
  • Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • A solid understanding of corrosion mechanisms and materials science
  • Experience in project execution within the Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Food and Beverage and/or Industrial Markets
  • Preferred: Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Chemical / Process design software (examples include Aspen Suite, EnviroSim BioWin, Hatch GPS-X, or OLI Systems)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5 years related experience
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license

Skills

  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
